St. Pedro, PRAY FOR US!

Filipino Youth in Mission: Beloved. Gifted. Empowered.

Last December 2, 2017, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines officially opened the “YEAR OF THE YOUTH”. Various activities for the youth were organized in order for the young generation to “re-open” their minds to the Church, to get involved in the ecclesial activities and undertakings, and to “fulfill their missions” in the Church, for the Church and by the Church. As youth, how can you be a help to the Church and the society, today?

With the theme, FILIPINO YOUTH IN MISSION: BELOVED, GIFTED, EMPOWERED; we reflect on the significance of the “Filipino Youth” in the Holy Mother Church, his capacity to be a missionary like Saint Pedro Calungsod did or at home, at school, and everywhere, where there is a chance to spread and to tell the Good News.  Lots of Filipinos are migrating nowadays, families are moving out from the country, to lands they never knew. Moreover, they bring hope to desolate places where God once reign, yet, because of the hedonistic lifestyle, tend to forget God. We are called to be “MISSIONARIES”, especially the young, because they are the hope of the future.

In Baptism, we are God’s beloved children, adopted yet chosen. By such adoption, God bestowed upon us gifts. Gifts to be used, shared and cherished. These gifts empowered us to become soldiers and missionaries for Christ. It is a cycle of faith, hope, and love. Because of His love, He did not left us orphans. He sent to us the Holy Spirit that we may be gifted and empowered, ready to do His Will and set the world ablaze in the fire of His holy love.

TOTUS TUUS MARIA!
